Target Obsession

I love Target. That store is addicting! I go there at least twice a week, even when I don't really need anything. The other day I went to "look" and I found a wall transfer for our bedroom. I have been looking at a couple of places... here and here and couldn't decide what I wanted.

This is before pic of the wall above our headboard.... and here is a pic after my hubby and I put it on....
I love how it turned out. I am already scouting the house out to see where I can put more sayings up! lol It was fairly easy to put on, kinda like a big rub-on you use on a scrapbook page. After reading the box I found out that the transfers are made from DCWV, a scrapbook company! They have lots of other quotes...just in case you need an excuse to go to Target. lol
I also went last night too and found these plates half off...

Just a starting point in redecorating my kitchen. lol I can't pass up a good deal.

Speaking of good deals...the bakery has a coupon code on the home page for 30% off your entire purchase. Snatch it up because it will not be available much longer.

More to come this week. SO excited about February's Kit Guest Designer, Scrapbook Bakery's anniversary, and a CONTEST! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more details!

Love is in the Air

I love Valentine's Day and I love making projects for Valentine's day. Here are a few things I was working on this weekend...
I decorated a mini bucket full of sweets for an upcoming class. The heart on the front is a magnet so that if I want to use the bucket for another occasion, I can just switch it out. I also cut strips of patterned paper to wrap around mini candy bars. I just love them. They are so bright and fun.

I also worked on a card for the class...

Something else fun that I wanted to share is a Love Notes Box that I made a couple of years ago. Cards from my hubby and son were piled high and I wanted to make something cute to store them in with other memorabilla that I didn't have a spot for....

Hope your weekend was great! What fun projects do you create in the spirit of Valentine's Day?

Stressed

What a day. I am so stressed out! I will not bore you with all the details but do you ever have one of those days where all you want to do is hide under the covers? I just can't believe it is only Tuesday! I have such a long week still ahead of me. Any suggestions for destressing? I am in desperate need of relaxation.
Anyway, not in the mood to report much. Kinda grumpy... as you probably already know. lol I will leave you with a little eye candy though. This is a layout I did awhile ago. The pic is from my wedding and that is my sweet Dad with his sweet smile. He is the best. The most patient man in the world. Love him so much. Can you tell I am a daddy's girl? lol
I hope you are enjoying a stress-free day! Thanks for stopping by.

Busy, Busy

I have been wanting to post for a couple of days now, but my computer monitor went out. Very frustrating. Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for the sweet comments and emails about my layouts. Thanks!
I have been busy getting ready for the Inspired Event by packing up lots of kits to sell. (I hope they will all fit in my vehicle!) You should see the sea of pink bakery boxes at my house! lol I haven't started packing the class kits yet even though Jenni Bowlin sent me the product last week. I am so happy that she agreed to sponsor my class. She has been so generous. I love her style and I LOVE her products! Last October, I made a visit to her home in TN. to pick up this antique table:

(Forgive the poor pic. I am not on my computer to do editing!) My hubby and I made a weekend trip of it for our anniversary and I just loved it even more when we got it home because it was the perfect height to stand at when cutting out images from my Cricut and Sizzix. It also was perfect for my three Pottery Barn boxes I found on clearance that holds my acrylic stamps sets. Also, I can display layouts on the top of the table, under the plexi glass. (Sorry I didn't take a pic of that) I am having fun changing out layouts every week or so.

The table was not the only thing that was cool. Jenni was so sweet when we were there. She let me take a tour of her studio, which by the way was AMAZING. Do you ever feel really good about your space and then see someone else's and think...wow, mine sucks. LOL That is what I was thinking. Also, she let me in on some hot spots around town including Scarlett Scales, a local antique shop that I thought I would die when I walked in. lol It was so "me" and they were getting ready to close and the lady let me wonder around as long as I wanted. Very sweet...love that southern hospitality. Anyway, I scored some good stuff....That will be a later post.

Okay, enough rambling. Happy Friday...I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Some 31 Challenge Projects

WARNING: LONG POST! Here are some of the projects for the 31 in 31 Challenge. I have actually been good about keeping up. I would have posted sooner but Blogger was not letting me upload pics for the past two nights! So, I thought I would upload a few of them before taking Alex to school. (He got a two hour snow delay!)

Harry Potter Layout: Had to do a layout about him and my hubby going out a little before midnight to get the last book in the series and him finishing it in less than 24 hours!
I am teaching a class Wednesday. Here is a little peek of the Basic Grey Photo Cube we are doing:
Halloween Layout: Alex was Lord Voldemort (from Harry Potter) for Halloween last year. The journaling reads... In your own words, "I am getting to old for Halloween and trick-or-treating. This is my last year." Sigh. Let's just enjoy it one more time. Note: My son is VERY mature and I have to force him to be silly sometimes! lol
Christmas 2 Page Layout: Please forgive the pic. The background is cream and does not give a good contrast. This is just a quick 2 page layout that I wanted to whip up to get those Christmas Pics scrapped! I got twelve pics on! Anyone who knows me knows this is my weakness! lol Chritmas pics are so hard for me.
A Basic Grey Card that goes with the cube for the class I will be teaching:
Here is a Highlights of 2007 Layout: Another part of the class I will be teaching. I went outside my comfort zone and used my own handwriting! That is big for me.

Last, but not least...The Autumn Layout I did: I always force Alex to do a little photo shoot in the fall, my favorite time of year. This year I even got him to be a little silly! lol
Thanks for looking! Also, keep the comments coming. I will do a RAK in February that ALL of the comments will be eligible for!

Quick Post

Hi. Just wanted to drop in before I go to bed to do a quick post. I was able to upload one of the layouts I did for the 31 Challenge. Here it is. . .

These are pics of my son's first high school dance. He was asked by his friend Jayme to go to her school dance. These are just a few of the pics I took that day. I think I have enough to make an entire album! I am so bad about taking so many photos of one event. I guess I just stick with the idea that if I keep taking them, one has to turn out good! lol

One more thing, you guys have to check out Sara's blog. She had the cutest post on there today about the prize she won from a RAK on my blog. Thanks Sara!

Okay...must go to bed! Thanks for reading.

Totally Random

I know I promised pics of my layouts for the 31 layouts in 31 days challenge, but my camera is not being my friend right now. I will try to post them tomorrow. So, inspired by Laura's blog, I will do a totally random post.

-Sarah Jessica Parker was on Oprah today. Anyone see it? Love, love, love her! My hubby bought me the HBO series: Sex and the City for my birthday a few years ago and I have watched it too many times too count. Her clothing line is adorable too! I also have a countdown going in my head until the movie comes out.

-I hate it when my son has to go to the orthodontist. He went today to get spacers put in. He is in pain and I just hate that.

-I am really annoyed by the news right now. Growing up, when it would rain/snow...that was not breaking news or even worthy enough to break into programming! It seems like they are constantly doing that. lol

-I have three dogs. Casey, Jack, and Goldy.

-I can't believe that I have been scrapbooking for over ten years!

-If I wasn't doing what I am doing now, I would be a graphic designer.

Enough randomness? Leave me a comment and tell me something random or just something about you. Thanks for reading.

Blogity, Blog, Blogs

Is anyone else addicted to blogging or reading other's blogs? I sure am. I recently updated my list of blogs I read. I usually only read blogs related to scrapbooking/artists because I find them SO inspiring. Sometimes I read a blog and think why don't I do that. For instance, I am always stalking heather's blog. She is not only a talented designer but a super mom. Her family does movie night and she always has the cutest snacks and props that relate to the movie posted on her blog. So cute. I decided to do a movie night at our house every other Friday. We started last night and rented The Simpsons Movie. (I did not do the snack and prop idea but I think I will incorporate the snack idea in the future b/c my step-son is 14 and I think that is all he could handle. lol) The movie was really funny. I am not a big fan of the show but the movie turned out pretty good!

I have also been stalking Sherelle's blog. This is where I found Robyn's blog and she is challenging others to complete 31 layouts in 31 days. I am totally up for the challenge and already made 2 (I am behind but I will catch up today!) I will post the pics of my layouts tomorrow. Anyone else up for the challenge?

So, what is your favorite blog at the moment?

New Year, New Kit

Happy New Year everyone! I heard on the radio today someone talking about their dislike of resolutions because they are so hard to keep. They said they were going to have intentions instead. I like that. So, this year my intentions/goals will be to eat healthier, find more time for just me, become more organized, and to stop obsessing about things that I can not change. These may sound selfish but I feel that if I can become stronger in all of these areas then I will become a better version of myself that will ultimately affect everyone around me in a positive way.
Okay, enough serious stuff. lol With every new year brings new beginnings...a clean slate. I love that so I wanted to name January's kit, New Beginnings. It is available now and almost sold out. I was the guest designer this month and I had so much fun just "playing". I really want to find more time to do that. Here are some pics of what I made with the kit. 1. This layout I made was with pics from Scrapbook Bakery's first crop (also my 27th birthday). I did not want to use the jeweled word "happy" that comes with the kit, so I just used the h for my initial and then used the rest of the letters (a,p,p,y) and cut them apart and used them individually to add a little bling around the photos. The kit also comes with a scalloped circle die-cut paper so I snipped off the scallopes all the way around to make a straight scalloped border along the top and bottom of the pics.
2.This is a door knob hanger that I made into a mini-chalkboard using a chalkbord spray paint! I embellished with ribbons from the kit and the Top Secret sticky for the theme. I also tied a piece of chalk to the side and used my left over bling to border the bottom of the chalkboard.3.These cute little butterflies are magnets. The kit comes with 6 of these XL Ghost Butterflies. So, I painted the butterflies pink and after they dried I stamped (with Staz On) a definition stamp on top and then added sparkly stickers to spell out "art". I made another set of these and put my nieces initials. On the back of each butterfly, I attached a Basic Grey magnet from the kit. They work so good! Thanks for looking. I hope your new year will be filled with happiness, health, and new adventures! Here is to 2008!
