Party Like A Rock Star

That is what the new kit of the month is called and I guess my secret is out. Every month I add the kit as a product into the store a little bit early (usually the day before the first of the month)and I think some of you have figured that out because there are only three kits left! lol So, if you are interested, I would go grab one now because I do not have any more materials for substitutions on this one and it is being offered at $19.99 for a limited time! Here is a pic of the kit...
The talented and oh so sweet Susan Weinroth agreed to be the guest designer this month. I had seen her work numerous times but just had to ask her after I saw her work in 101 things you can do with your scrapbook supplies magazine. Anyone else have that magazine? LOVE it. One of my favorites. Anyway, here is some of her fabulous projects with the kit materials:

One more thing...there is still time to enter the box contest! (See February 5th post) We are extending the deadline until tomorrow night at midnight. Thanks for everyone who entered. Very inspiring!

Must go. Tonight is movie night. We rented a classic, National Lampoon's Vacation. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

As Promised

As promised here is a couple of layouts that I created over the weekend....
This one is a picture of Alex hanging out with me in my studio painting. The journaling reads, "A picture of my favorite thing. Alex coming in on a lazy weekend afternoon and creating with me. I scrapbook and he is next to me painting or drawing. Creativity is such an outlet for both of us and I am so glad that I get to share that with him. It's our thing."
I am so glad that I got this finally documented. This is a goal...to have more pages like this in my scrapbook not just holidays, but everyday moments. I also got to play with the KI pop culture line...fun stuff!
Here is another...

I was going for a patchwork look on this one. To sum up the journaling it talks about that I daydream and I find myself wondering about Alex...what career he will choose?, will he have children some day? Basically, just pondering and letting him know that I trust his decisions and I am so glad to be on the "journey" with him.

I also promised a pic of my new kitchen table....

You can see our not so pretty table in the background. lol I was thrilled when my mom called me and told me that this $299.99 table that I had been eyeing at Target was 75% off. So, I got it for $74.99! :) So now it is a stepping stone for more decorating! The pale yellow wall will be the blue that is the color of the placemats. I also bought matching curtains! Can you tell I am a little excited! lol

In other news, I am surronded by products and kits for the Inspired event. I am super excited about the event but it is a lot of work but I love Jenni Bowlin products! My studio is a sea of her stuff!

Few reminders...
-It is NOT too late to get in your pics for the Box contest. We have received a lot of photos but if you are undecided about entering ...I encourage you to do it. You never know! :)

-The Bakery has a coupon for 30% off your entire purchase! (including kits) Grab it before it is gone.

I think that is it for tonight. I am really tired. Thanks for stopping by! I will be back later in the week with more news.

Finally Blogging

So sorry to be MIA lately. I have good intentions to post everyday but this week got away from me. I had a great weekend! On Saturday, I went scrapbooking with Jennie, Shane, and Melissa (my design team girls). We had so much fun and I got a lot done. I will share pics tomorrow of the layouts I completed. And to top it all off, when I arrived home, my hubby had shampooed all the carpets, gave all three dogs a bath, and washed their beds. I was a HAPPY gal! I have been putting off all those things for quite some time so to have them done was such a treat. I took him out to dinner to say thanks.

Tonight I went to my favorite store (Target) and bought a new kitchen table and chairs that were on clearance. I will share pics tomorrow but I was thrilled to see the table at 75% off and got the chairs for a great price as well. So now my kitchen has completely transformed! I just love a great deal!

I will be sharing lots more this week but here is a little eye candy for ya....a FEW pages from the album I did a few months ago of me and my step-son and all the ways he has made me a better person. I printed out little tags that said because of you and then I wrote different things on each one and used them on the pages of Alex and I together. The opposite pages are just simply pics of him on different scrap pieces of paper that I had left over. Very simple album to whip up. Enjoy! Thanks for reading!

One more thing. My friend Jennie just started her own blog. Go stop by and say hi! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope everyone is having a great day! This week has been super stressful. That's why I haven't posted very much. But...I did want to share a pic of my son's Valentine's Day gift: It's not a great pic but I covered a composition notebook for Alex to write his songs in. He is really into his band and composing his own songs so needless to say it was a hit! (I used the sticky Love, Elsie black music paper and some leather stitched borders from Lil' Davis.)

Another horrible pic but this is a layout I did of Alex recently:

The journaling is cut off in the pic (and yes it is on an angle on purpose...happy accident! lol) but reads: "So good to see you enjoying your passion of music. It comes so easily to you. You are truly a gifted young man." I used the new KI lace cardstock (loved it!) and some fun Love, Elsie stuff. The title was used with the new Doodlebug stickers but they were brown so I used them as a mask and swiped some paint across them and then peeled them up. I really like the effect.

How was your Valentine's Day? Mine was great. My hubby always surprises me. He is the best. Love him! Must go watch Survivor now. Thanks for stopping by!

Lots to Share

Thought I would take a breather from preparing taxes (YUCK) and post some goodies that I just added to the bakery. You can find these under KITS:
The first one is a project kit. It is the first one I have decided to do and it was so much fun to make that I think I will do more in the future. It is called, "Oh the Places You'll Go" (from Dr. Seuss) I made this for my step-son's 8th grade graduation gift. That was their theme from school and I wanted to document his 8th grade year before moving on to high school.
Here is what I did with the kit: The cover....The first page is a letter to my son. I printed onto a transparency and then painted the back with white paint (to simulate clouds)...A peek at the inside pages: Page by Page instructions are included with the kit and the cost is only $19.99! There are only a few so once they are gone, they are gone!
Also, the February Main Kit SOLD OUT FAST! So...I decided to add a mini kit to the shop called, CRUSH: It's got some of the same ingredients from the Main Kit but also some fun twists and the price is only $19.99 also...A GREAT DEAL! Also, I have received MANY emails about the Bakery Box Contest. Let me clarify a bit...you can use the box in ANY creative way! So, someone asked me if she used it in a creative way to store a scrapbook supply, would that be okay? YES! I don't want to put limitations on the rules because I don't want to hinder creativity! You can ALWAYS email me with any questions at info@scrapbookbakery.com .
I have lots of fun things to share over the next couple of days..I have been busy creating. My good friend Jennie (She is on the design team for Scrapbook Bakery) came over last night to crop. Had a blast! (Hi Jennie! lol)
Keep those comments coming. I will do a surprise drawing in the next two weeks from ALL of the comments to celebrate Scrapbook Bakery's anniversary. Thanks for reading!

Thinking outside the BOX

Who's ready for a contest? I have been wanting to create a contest for some time now for the bakery, just never thought of a really cool idea..until now!
Everyone comments on how much they love the bakery box that their order comes in (see picture). Well, let's see what you can do with that cute box!
I am looking for the most creative way to use the bakery box. It's that simple. The only rules are:
1. You must use the bakery box in a creative way. (the large or small one)
2. All pictures must be emailed to Scrapbook Bakery no later than March 1, 2008.
The entries will be judged by Scrapbook Bakery's design team and a winner will be announced on this blog no later than March 5, 2008.
The winner will receive another bakery box sent to you filled with scrapbooking treats ($250.00 value)!
So start thinking outside the box ....or should I say with the box! LOL Please share the news with your friends. I can't wait to see what you "whip" up. Happy creating!

Happy Anniversary!

Exactly one year ago today Scrapbook Bakery went live on the web. The time has went by so fast and I am so proud of the direction the business is going. I can't wait to see where this year goes...lots of new adventures and I am really excited about the journey.

Having said that I must say that the most fun so far has been working with such talented ladies and presenting the customers with fun kits each month. I was VERY excited about this month, not just because it was such a special month for the business, but because Laura Vegas agreed to be the guest designer. I just love her style. She just makes it look so effortless. Her projects always have caught my eye and I could not wait to see what she whipped up with our ingredients!
Here are some pics...The kit is called Love is in the Air and the ingredients are:
7 Patterned Papers from KI Memories
2 Sheets of Cardstock from Bazzill
1 Package of XL Playing Cards from Heidi Swapp
1 Yard of XOXO Twill Ribbon from Adorn It
1 Sticker Sheet from Heidi Swapp
1 Epoxy Sheet from KI Memories
1 Alphabet Sticker Sheet from Love, Elsie
1 Ribbon Spool from KI Memories
1 XL Floral from Heidi Swapp
1 Cardstock Sticker Sheet from KI Memories
1 Package of XL Ghost Hearts from Heidi Swapp
*EDITED: THE KITS ARE SOLD OUT...LOOK FOR A MINI KIT SOON!
Here are a few pics of Laura's fabulous creations: (You can see all of them on her blog)
Thanks so much Laura for lending your talent. You rock! I wish I lived closer to you and I could take some scrapping and photography lessons! :)
In other news, I am working on all of the details for the first ever contest at the bakery. Stay tuned for more details. Must go now. My family is waiting for me to start movie night. Have a great weekend and thanks so much to all of you that purchased the kit. You will not be dissappointed!
