Scrappin' Weekend

Okay, so I didn't scrapbook the whole weekend but almost. lol Friday night I worked on finishing up two books for a client. 46 layouts total! I'm done now! :) Saturday, my sister and I went to a Creating Keepsakes Convention in Louisville and did some scrapbook shopping. Yesterday, I met up with Shane to do some scrapbooking and got a lot of cards done. I will show them to you soon but here is one I did for the Hero Arts Blog challenge last week. The challenge was to create a window. I made a window so you could see the gift card inside...

Doesn't that ribbon look like ketchup? :)

Gotta run. Have a lot on my to-do list today but be sure to check back on Wednesday. I have something fun for the Bakery and here on the blog during the month of April. You don't want to miss it...

Dawn McVey's Color Challenge #1 and a Video

I was very excited to see that Dawn was starting color challenges! I decided to play along with these fun colors:

Lovin' that bedspread from Pottery Barn! Here is my card inspired by these colors...

I decided to stamp with white, acrylic paint instead of regular ink and rough up the edges with sandpaper and white paint to give it a distressed look. I also decided to do a video about stamping with acrylic paint! I liked the look of this card, so I made another one with the same design but more masculine colors. You can see the video HERE.

Supplies:
Stamp and Pearls: Hero Arts
Rub-on Greeting: Stampin' Up
White Paint: Making Memories

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Monday!

5 Favorite Things

Thought I would share some of my favorite things right now....

1. I am really lovin' Cosmo Cricket products lately. Well made products. I just purchased THIS collection and made this card with some of the scraps from a project I am working on...

2. I am really lovin' my son's music. Alex had another gig on Friday night. I am so proud of him. He did really good. You can go HERE to see videos of the gig and listen to some of their songs. You must listen to RUSTED SWORD. It is only instrumentals, but it really showcases their talent. (P.S. They changed their band name from Impulsive to Winter Rising.)

3. I am really lovin' THIS place. I ate there for the first time tonight and it was YUMMY!

4. I am really lovin' that the Twilight DVD came out this weekend. I have watched it more times than I would like to admit! :)

5. I am really lovin' the cover of THIS song.

What are you lovin' right now?

Bella Donna Purse

Have you ever heard of Bella Donna? I recently went to a Bella Donna purse party hosted by Jennie. It was so much fun. You get to choose the shape and fabric of your purse. I also chose an extra little something by putting a clear pocket on the front of my bag. I was told that many gals who are Tastefully Simple and Pampered Chef consultants choose this clear pocket too to hold their brochures. Well, I thought it would be fun to get a different size clear pocket (6x6) to hold a tiny, scrapbook page! I am so glad I did. Here is a pic of my purse....
and here is the mini, scrapbook page for the pocket....
and here is the final result...

I am working on other little pages for the front. I'm thinking of doing a monogram page and maybe a favorite quote page. Fun, Fun!

Well, I am off to go clean up my mess! :) Be back soon.

P.S. HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Nuggets.

No, not chicken nuggets. lol Don't you just love when you see and older couple walking past you holding hands or just a really cute, sweet spirited grandma or grandpa? :) Well, I just love them and I call them nuggets. Awhile ago, Ted and I had a sweet older gentleman wait on us at a store and after talking with him for a bit, we left and Ted said, "Yep. He's a nugget." Anyway, the point of all this is that I was blog hopping this morning and on Ali's blog, she posted a video about children's author and illustrator, Eric Carle. You can see the video HERE. Being a preschool teacher for so long, I have always loved his stories. They are great learning tools and his artwork is stunning. I would LOVE to go HERE. Yep, his sweet personality has definitely classified him as a nugget. hee.

Okay, onto a few shares...
Made this for the Hero Arts challenge last week. The challenge was to do a shaped card. I decided to do a bubble gum machine card....
The bottom lifts to reveal a gumball. :)
I also finally organized my all the cards I created so I could find them! ....
used lots of Hero Arts stamps as the labels to divide the cards.
That's all I got for now. Have a great Monday!

The weekend is here!

and I am so happy that it is Friday. I am going to be doing a lot of creating this weekend so I will have lots to share Sunday night but for now, I wanted to show you some binder clips I altered....

I was preparing for tax season a few weeks ago and it is my LEAST favorite thing to do so I thought making the clips bright and cheery might help me smile when I am wanting to scream drowning in paperwork! lol This is the one thing I dread every year. Anyway, thought I would share. I'll be back soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Kristina's Color Inspiration #45

Hi all. Yes, I am still here. It is hard to believe it has been almost a week since I blogged. I have been busy making cards for Jennifer's card drive and creating a couple of scrapbooks for a client. I wanted to take a break from everything today and just play and I loved these colors from Kristina's color inspiration:and I made this card...

I used my new Making Memories butterfly stamp set and heat embossed it with white powder. I also had fun using my new Sizzix Big Shot Label Die and my Stampin Up' Chit Chat rub-ons. I love using new product. I am getting better about not hoarding it. lol

I will be back Friday with some more shares. Night!

Random...

Today I realized that I haven't done a random post in awhile. So here is some random info.

1. I am way too upset about the Bachelor last night. Anyone else watch? I loved Jason this whole season until last night. He was unbelievably cruel to Melissa. It's one thing to say things are not working out with Melissa but it is another story to dump Melissa and then five minutes later kiss Molly. I couldn't agree more with Melissa when she said, "You Bastard." And poor Ty! He was part of the engagement and now what? Like I said, poor guy.

2. I have been battling a sinus infection for about two weeks now. About five days ago, I could not hear out of my left ear. Still can't actually. So, I went to the doctor yesterday and he said if the medicine he gave me doesn't clear up all the fluid in my ears in ten days, I have to get tubes in my ears. WHAT? I thought that was for little kids! Not really thrilled about that. :(

3. Alex and his band have been working really hard and playing more gigs. They have two coming up this month. Lots of drumming in our house but hey, I can't hear! just kidding! I am so proud of him. :)

4. EVERYONE has been telling me to join Facebook? Why? Not one person has told me anything about it but that is "cool". Need a little more info. lol

5. I created some cards using some Hero Arts goodies. Wanna See?

6. I am secretly thinking of trying my hand at digital scrapbooking. The only thing holding me back is the question, "Do I really need to start something else?" !

7. I think my hubby and I are going to Chicago for our anniversary this year. PLEASE leave a comment if you can help me out with tips on where to stay and what I have to see. I want to be in the action. :)

Alright, off to get some stuff done. Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Brunch...

That is the name of Scrapbook Bakery's new kit for this month. I decided to be the guest designer b/c I fell in love with the product AND my good friend Shane just had a baby girl last week (CONGRATS SHANE!) and I knew this kit would be perfect to make her a few baby gifts.

First, here is a pic of the kit and a list of "ingredients" ..... Kit Ingredients:
5 Patterned Papers from Making Memories
3 Solid Papers from Making Memories
1 Rub-On Sheet from Basic Grey
1 Flower Mask from Heidi Swapp
1 Epoxy Tag Alphabet from Making Memories
1 Classic Ribbon Collection from American Crafts
1 Mini Chipboard Book from Jenni Bowlin
1 Set of Page Pebbles from Making Memories
8 Mini Brads from Heidi Swapp
2 White Flowers from Making Memories
3 Journaling Tags from Martha Stewart
6 Clear Buttons from Autumn Leaves

The kit retails for $14.99 and you can see more HERE.

I decided to make Shane a thank you card set for all those baby gifts she received.....

A detailed shot....I used the mini flower mask from the kit and a small ink cube to create the envelopes for her card set....And using the chipboard book, I created a mini journal so Shane can write down her thoughts about her first memories with baby Mary Kate...
I also made a LO for my sister of my nephew, J.T. getting ready for bath time.... I have a lot more to share this week. Be back soon....
