Valentine Card Ideas...

Hello blog friends. Just wanted to hop on and show you some card ideas for Valentine's Day, which is just around the corner. First up, a card set made by punching hearts (that are the same color as the note card) and stamping them with different background stamps to make them pop. I am loving the color of the new Hero Arts Note cards. Yum.....
Here is a closer shot that shows how I used pop dots on some of the hearts to add dimension...
Closer shot of some of the cards...

I also made some super simple Valentine cards for Winter's great kid card drive. You can find all the card drive details HERE. (All the stamps I used are from Hero Arts-big surprise huh?) Thanks for stopping by. Be back soon...

Ode to the Wendy's Chocolate Frosty...

Hello everyone. I'm alive thanks to the Wendy's chocolate frosty! lol Let me explain....my oral surgery went great but I honestly couldn't have made it without at least two of them a day. :) It was the only thing that would calm the ache of my teeth and go down with ease. My husband joked that we should have taken stock in Wendy's. lol

Anyway, just wanted to check in with you all. I miss blogging but I'm feeling much better and I'll be back soon with lots of things. I've had lots of creating time! Thanks for all the sweet comments, emails, and cards. You guys are the best!

Worry Wart...

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a worrier. I worry about everything. Right now I'm worrying about my oral surgery tomorrow morning. Yep, the day has come. I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed and can not get all the worst case scenarios out of my head. Anyway, just wanted to share since I might be away from the computer for a bit.

Since I am such a worry wart, it was hard for me to create anything to share here today. I just left my studio in frustration. But I do want to share something random that makes me happy...
Remember when I said Alex was sick on Christmas day and didn't get to open his gifts? He was well enough the next day and I just love these photos. He is a drummer at heart but has now taught himself the guitar as well and was REALLY wanting this guitar. Seeing him happy makes me happy. Adore him.

Okay, off to get in a bubble bath that my husband just drew for me after he just came home with ice cream. How great is he? He knows how to calm this worry wart.

Hugs to you all. Thanks for stopping by!

Two Happy Mamas Blog Design

Hi everyone. Thank you SO much for all the sweet comments and emails about feeling better. I'm feeling so much better today and so grateful for my health. That was a tough stomach flu. I don't remember the last time I was that sick so thank you again for your good thoughts. I really appreciate every single one.

I just had to blog to tell you about a great site and service: BLOG DESIGN BY TWO HAPPY MAMAS. Some of you have commented and emailed about how great my blog looks. THANKS! It was all becuse of Kristina Proffitt.

I've been a lurker on Kristina's blog for quite some time and always loved her bright, happy look to her personal blog and was delighted to read that she was venturing into the blog design business. I emailed her immediately and she took my ideas and did magic. So if you are thinking of playing around with your blog, email her! She has so many great options. I highly recommend her. She was fast, affordable, and did a fantastic job. Thank you Kristina!

I'll leave you with another card idea since I was absent on Friday...To create this card, I stamped the leaf image with VersaMark on canvas. Then I heat embossed with white embossing powder and went over it with peeled paint distress ink. I frayed the edges and added a sentiment with black Staz-On.

I'll be back soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Thursday's Card...

Just one card to show you today. I used a longer note card for this one and I love how it turned out... I made this because I never seem to have a congratulations card on hand for someone who just got engaged or married.

Before I go I have a random question for my blog readers....I'm going to try to do more regular tutorial videos. What is something you would like to see? I could really use your help with topics. THANKS! :)

Back tomorrow with another card. Thanks for stopping by!

Wednesday Cards...

Back today with a few more cards. I can't seem to get enough of THIS background stamp. I stamped it on cream colored cards with brown ink. I also like it with butterflies. Seems to make a good match.... Here is a detail shot of the main card...
and here is a detail shot of the cards that started off as mini cards. I didn't like them too much but I did after adding them to a flat notecard. I like that it is doesn't open like a traditional card...
Thanks for stopping by. I'm going to keep this short because Alex is having band practice and my computer is set up downstairs right next to them and it's LOUD. So gotta run. I'll be back tomorrow with another card idea...

Tuesday's Cards...

Happy Tuesday. Today I want to share some cards I made for another card drive...
Winter is collecting valentine theme cards for St.Jude. You can find all of the info HERE. I decided to make several of the same design.....
These are mini cards and I know the hearts have a orange look to them in the photos but they really are red. lol I put some clear distress stickles on them to give them shine and it was hard to photograph. Anyways, the inside greeting reads, "Happy Valentine's Day". Super quick and simple and hopefully will put a smile on a child's face. If you have a minute, please consider making a card to support Winter's great idea.

I'll be back tomorrow with with another card set...

Monday's Card...

Hello. Hope you all had a nice weekend. I was able to spend a lot of the time getting crafty. But before I show you that, congrats to Loriann! You are the winner from the Cards for Kids Giveaway! Email me and I will send out your prize. :)

I thought it would be fun to share a card or card set every single day this week. The first one uses flowers. Not just one flower, but several. I took some Hero Arts flowers in cream and white (which are PERFECT for this technique because they are paper flowers).....
layed them inside a shipping box on top of some white cardstock...
and sprayed them with color mists. This one using a pinkish red mist...The reason I used white cardstock instead of just scratch paper was because once you remove the flowers, it makes a great background design for a future project...
I also sprayed some with silver mist. If you look close, you can see the glitter shine (it's hard to capture on a picture but all of them are shiny in real life)Here is the final product. I like that you can control how much you spray on each flower to alter the final look. Some are heavier with color than others. I like the variety...Here is today's card using a variety of the pinkish red flowers. THIS is my new favorite background stamp. Isn't it gorgeous stamped on kraft with black ink? Yum.
To create the flower, I layered several of the flowers using a brad and then attached a button on top with some black string. You can see a detail shot of the flower HERE.

Thanks for stopping by. Be back tomorrow with a new card...

Cards for Kids and GIVEAWAY...

I've been busy making sets of cards for the Cards for Kids drive. You can find out more information on Jennifer's blog HERE. I've been hoarding some adorable animal rub-ons forever and wanted to use them on some cards for the drive. I think they work great for kids cards... I've got lots more cards to share but I'll wait and show a few at a time. I love participating in these card drives and I want you to as well. Leave a comment below if you have or plan to make a card for this drive and I'll be back soon to choose a name to win THIS stamp (one of my all time favorites!) from the Bakery.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon. :)

New Year, New Kit...

Happy New Year blog friends! I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year's Eve. We hung out at home and played Rock Band. :)

Since it is the first of the month, the new kit is live at Scrapbook Bakery. It is called Night Owl...
My inspiration was that woodblock stamp from Hero Arts. Isn't he adorable? I also love all the colors in the KI Memories 8x8 paper pad. Some of the pages have glitter. Yum. You can see the "ingredient" list HERE.

The extremely talented Jenn Biederman was the featured dream team artist this month. Here are her amazing creations...
Jenn also used some of the Hero Arts goodies that you can find HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Alright, off to get some work done. Have a great day!
