She has been a friend of mine for a LONG time. I remember when she gave me my first spiral perm when I was eight and because I have super thick hair (and it was SUPER long at the time), she had to help hold my head walking to the dryer. And it took so long that I remember she went out and got me some dinner! LOL She did my hair for all my school dances and my wedding. She is also my scrappin' buddy. I recently got her hooked on this hobby! Hee...another one bites the dust! :)
She is just one of the nicest people I know and I wanted to do something special for her just because. So, I bought her the stamp mentioned above and made her this quick little card set to give her today when I got my hair cut...

I thought these cards would be perfect for her to give to her clients.
I stamped the image in black and embossed with clear embossing powder to give it some shine.
This works so much better for me than using black embossing powder....just doesn't like me and always turns out blotchy.
A closer look...

Well, that's all I got for now. Going shopping with my son. He wants a new outfit for his music gig on Friday night! ;)
When creating two page LO's, I really like to treat each page as a mirror and mimic the other side. It makes designing super simple and looks organized, which I love!
To create the tags...
I started with a manilla office tag and applied wild honey distress ink. Then I layered fired brick distress ink and walnut stain distress ink on top of that. I dipped a paintbrush in water and flicked it on the tags for the water stain look and finished it off with some Tim Holtz stamps and chipboard houndstooth letters for the title.

I completely forgot to photograph the inside but I stamped three blank scooters for Grace to decorate. :)
Since I've been sharing fun cards for kids lately, I thought I'd share the cards that were picked up for the June/July issue of
These coloring cards hold a pack of crayons in the front and reveal stamped images on the inside for the child to color...
I clear embossed the word enjoy on the front of the library card, which you can find a template for in the magazine!...
I had a few questions about the patterned paper I used...that is Doodlebug's flocked polka dot papers that come in lots of fun and vibrant colors.

The next one I decided to use a bit of red flock on the heart...
Punchline: "To get to the other tide!" hee.
A: "With tomato paste!" LOL
Next up is my favorite card. Inside the card I am including that watercolor set so Grace can paint the butterflies on the front of the card...
What makes it even more fun is the butterflies are embossed with white embossing powder, so when she paints them, the design will resist and show through....
I think I like it so much because it reminds me of those paper pads as a kid where you had to use a special marker to reveal the hidden message. :)
I used a pink library pocket to hold a booklet of tags. When you pull it out, this is what you see..
Inside are more tags filled with images I stamped for Grace to color with her new crayons.
I'm just slipping the whole thing into an envelope like I would a card. This is a great project to make for children and slip it in your purse for quick trips out. Keeps them busy. ;)
