Another Gift...

Another gift idea for you. This one I made as a hostess gift because of all of the holiday parties. I don't like to come empty handed so I made this jar full of mini candy canes for all of the guests to enjoy and then I printed out the meaning of the candy cane story and mounted it on top of the lid, which is a good conversation starter. When the jar is empty, the hostess can use if for lots of fun things like....scrapbook goodies! :)

Before I forget, the winner of the Christmas is Victoria. Congrats Victoria! Email me with your address and I will get out your prize.

In other totally randomness...does anyone watch Brothers and Sisters? Did you see at the end that they will have no more episodes until January? What's up with that? I can't be the only one who is mad about that! lol

Alright, I am tired. Be back soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Gifts

Just wanted to share a quick gift idea....I wanted to get something for my hairdresser for Christmas but really didn't know what to get. Last year, I altered a white tin box and filled it with handmade cards that she could use. So this year I decided to give her a movie night. I altered this popcorn holder ($1.00 spot at Target) with some shiny KI Memories paper and snowflake embellishments.

The inside is filled with ...

lots of candy, microwave popcorn, and a Blockbuster gift card. I am going to wrap the entire thing with some clear cellophane but I didn't want to until I took some pictures.

Hope that gives you some inspiration for that hard to get something for person on your list! :)

Remember, you still have time to enter to win the holiday goodies from the last post. Just leave a comment and I will draw a winner on Monday.

Hope you have a great weekend!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

I finally got hit with the Christmas spirit last night and we decorated the house. Our tree is up...

With the lights on:
With the lights off:
I spotted this on the tree that made me smile... Alex put his drumsticks on the tree! :) Now, the tree rocks. lol

I have another share. I made a bunch of these tags to put on gifts....The red cardstock flips up to reveal a space to write "to" and "from" or a holiday greeting...

And since I am in the holiday spirit, I am giving away this holiday themed prize to one of my awesome blog readers:

If you want to have a chance to win, just leave a comment to this post telling me what you like best about my blog and one thing you would like to see in the future. Trying to come up with some exciting things next year and need your help!

I will be back Monday with the winner. Thanks for stopping by!

Congrats Erin!

And since it is the first of the month, Scrapbook Bakery is featuring a new kit called, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"! Here is a pic...
I wanted to put together something with a calendar for the upcoming year and mix it with basic supplies like the 48 sheet MM cardstock pad, ribbon card from Maya Road, and the glittery gold alpha from K&Co. Jayme Shepherd from MM was kind enough to guest design with the kit. Here are her fantastic creations..

First, she created a calendar on a book ring. I love how she monogrammed each month with the gold letters....
She also created this layout with a fitting title and theme...
Thanks Jayme! That's all I got for today. Be back soon...

Happy Thanksgiving and a Mystery Giveaway!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are headed to my mom's today for turkey day. In spirit of that, I want to do a giveaway. This is a mystery giveaway!

So, to win your mystery prize, just leave a comment to this post answering this question: "What are you thankful for?" I will post a winner on Monday morning.

In other news, I finished reading Twilight and saw the movie with Jennie on Tuesday night. OMG! I am completely smitten with Edward. Not to sound like a sixteen year old but, he is such a cutie! I thought the movie was just as good as the book. I don't know what the critics are talking about with their not so great reviews. Also, I just read that they are already making the second movie. If anyone has not read Twilight, GO read it. You will love it.

Okay, off to eat some turkey. Have a great holiday! Be back Monday with the winner of the mystery giveaway!

Scraps

I decided to do the Hero Arts challenge for this past week which was to use your scraps. I had stamped a few extra of the Thank You image awhile ago so I thought I would use it on a card along with some other scraps. Speaking of scraps, I have all of my colored cardstock scraps sorted by color in a large expandable travel file. I know many of you probably already do this but if you don't, try it! This is a life saver when going to crops and saves so much time searching for the right color...Also, did you see that big U that I used on the card? That was another find while organizing my scrap room. I found SEVERAL packs of partial used letters so I decided to sort them by letter and came up with this system...

Ted bought me these small bins at a local hardware store and I labeled them and I am ready to start sorting by each letter. I think this will be so fun when doing monogram projects or making funky, mixed-up titles on pages.

In other news, I am almost done with the Twilight book. I had to take a break because I misplaced my glasses (I found them today!) and I went shopping with my mom all day (literally all day 9-9!) ....so I am looking forward to finishing it today! I'll let you know what I think when I am done.

Hope you had a great weekend and thanks for stopping by. Be back soon with a giveaway!

I'm a sucker

Yep. I'm totally a sucker. I went out after dinner and bought this:

I just couldn't help it. I tried to fight but too many people said how WONDERFUL it is so I thought, why not! Not to mention that I am going to see the movie on Sunday with Jennie didn't hurt either.

In other total randomness, I have really been suffering bad with my allergies/sinuses. I know, I know, who cares about that! lol But, I found a really great product that I wanted to share with anyone who is having the same troubles....probably many of you aren't because you don't live here in Cincinnati. It is a proven fact it is a horrible place for allergies. Anyway, I went out and bought a neti pot . If you have never heard of it (I hadn't), it's a device to clean out your sinuses and it looks like a cute little teapot. I saw it on Oprah awhile ago and thought it probably wouldn't work but I was suffering so bad that I went out and got one.

I felt so silly putting it up my nose. I made my husband do it first. He laughed and said, "You're testing it on me first to see if it kills me, aren't you?" hee hee. Anyway, it works great. Thought I would pass it on.

Have a great night. Off to read...be back tomorrow with a share.
