Kristina's 50th Color Inspiration!

Hi! Thought I would share what I made for Kristina's 50th Color Inspiration. Had to be a part of this celebration. Congrats Kristina! Thank you for always giving us a creative boost with each color challenge!

Here are the colors she gave us to use...

And my card....I decided to do a peek-a-boo card by using a Hero Arts background stamp and embossing it with white embossing powder on the brown and then punching a few circles. Then I repeated the embossing step with yellow, red, and blue and tucked it under the holes, glued it down where it matched, and then lifted the brown with pop-dots to give it a peek-a-boo effect. I also stamped with brown Staz-On for the message on white ribbon and instead of knotting the ribbon, I stapled it for a fun look.

Thanks for stopping by!

Busy Bee

Well hello. Sorry to have disappeared there. Life just got busy. BUT it has been a very productive Monday. I can't believe all the things I got accomplished:

-went grocery shopping this morning
-scrubbed the fridge and freezer when I got home before loading all the groceries
-paid all the bills
-did some online banking
-caught up on some emails
-made some orthodontist appointments for Alex
-went to the car wash to vacuum and wash my filthy car
-went to Petsmart to exchange the doggies collars
-went to Lowe's to price hardwood floors for the kitchen and family room
-went to Best Buy to get some computer stuff I need
-made some yummy ham and potatoes for dinner
-caught up on some t.v. shows that I taped. Thank God for DVR! :)
-took these pics of a card set I made a few weeks ago. There were a lot more cards but I have been using them up! lol
a close up shot....

Okay, now I am tired! Thanks for being so patient and stopping by. I will be back soon with more creative shares.

Bo Bunny in the house!

Just wanted you to know that Scrapbook Bakery has lots of the yummy Bo-Bunny Dot 12x12 paper in. I just love this paper b/c it is double sided. One side with the subtle dots that works great with stamping and the other side that is the solid wash of that color. Yum. You can find it HERE. Make sure you click on view larger image to see it in detail. Here are some pics of this fun paper in the FINISHED Scrapbook Bakery space....just a little tease until I make a video of the area! :)
Be back soon....

You're So Sweet....

Finally got a moment to blog and wanted to share a card set I made using Martha Stewart's cute little cupcake embellishments that I have been hoarding for so long....

In other news, Alex and his band participated in another battle of the bands last night and won! He won 20 hours of recording time at a recording studio! I'm very excited for him. :)

I'll be back soon with lots more to share. Have a good week....

Tax Baby...

It is hard to believe but Alex is 16 today! He is a such a great kid and I could not be more proud to be his step-mom. Every single day I am blessed with the gift of this young man. Yep, God is good.
Happy Birthday Alex! I love you so much.

Alcohol Inks

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a nice Easter. Just wanted to show you a few cards that I made during our weekend trip using alcohol inks. I was inspired by the awesome Tim Holtz when I watched some of his videos that can be found HERE. I was always scared of using alcohol inks but they were so much fun to use!

For this card I used glossy white paper and applied small drops of alcohol ink in different colors moving the paper around to get the alcohol inks to mix. Once dry (they do not take long to dry), I stamped the peacock image in VersaMark and then used white embossing powder and embossed the image. I was just playing around but I really like how the white embossing powder picked up all the different colors. Fun!

Here are some more cards. The top two uses Hero Arts border stamps. I did the same technique as the first card.

Just thought I would share some eye candy. Thanks for stopping by!

Anyway, I wanted to share the Easter gift I made for my niece. She loves playing tic-tac-toe so I made her a tic-tac-toe game by using a shadow box and a few scrapping supplies. I explain it in more detail in the video which you can see HERE.

Supply List:
Shadowbox- Martha Stewart
All stamps-Hero Arts
Brown Ink-Staz On
Chipboard Circles and Tin-Paper Wishes
Ribbon-Michael's

That's all I got for now. Thanks for stopping by!
