Playing Catch Up

Christmas was great! We went to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve and opened presents at our house Christmas morning and then to my parents house Christmas afternoon and THEN we hosted a dinner on Christmas evening for our neighbor. Like I said, we were busy! Here are a few shots of Christmas: 1.Ted opening his gift from me (Van Halen concert tickets) 2. Alex opening his XBOX360 that we got him (he was so excited) 3. me with my new MM Embellishment Center from my parents. Ted has been on vacation this past week and we have been been really productive getting things done around the house that we never have time to do. It has been so nice having him home. It has been the best gift! Now, I need to focus on work. January's kit will be up in a few days and I am going to be the guest designer so I need to get scrapping! Also, there is a coupon code for 25% off your entire purchase that is good only for a few more days at the site. Well, I think that is it. Thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday.

Inspired Event

So very EXCITED to be teaching a one hour mini workshop at this event. Scrapbook Bakery will also be selling kits there! Donna has some more info about it on her blog. Check it out here or here. I will be posting lots more about this in the future. In other news, I am officially all done shopping and wrapping for Christmas! Finally! lol We went to my husband's parent's house last night and exchanged gifts. I got a gift card to Michael's craft store. Is it bad that it has already been spent in less than 48 hours? lol I am so addicted to this hobby!

Happy Mail Winner

Sorry that I did not get to the winner last night. I appreciate your patience. I am super busy (aren't we all?) but I am having so much fun with these give aways! As I always say, please keep the comments coming. I read every single one and I will do another happy mail give away in February and I will put all the comments together to pick randomly.
The winner of the scrap goodies goes to...drumroll please...

Congrats Sara! Email me at info@scrapbookbakery.com with your address and I will get you prize out to you. :)
In other news, I am still in the stress mode of Christmas but I am getting things accomplished. These are frames that I "made" or should I say embellished? lol I wanted to make something for the pre-K kids I teach part-time. So, I enlarged their pic and tied different, coordinating ribbon to the side of each one and stamped "You're So Special" on the bottom. Very simple. Very cute. I got the frames at Target (who doesn't love Target?!) on clearance for $1.25 and the stamp is from Hero Arts. I used Staz On ink, the only thing that wouldn't smear. So, if you are looking for a non-expensive gift, this might be a solution. Please forgive me for the quality of the pics. I was in such a hurry to photograph these last night. I really need some photography lessons from Laura!A little before and after....

This is Why.

I love to scrapbook. I have been doing this hobby for almost ten years and I can't imagine my life without it. I decided to start a business in the scrapbooking field because I wanted to do what I love. BUT...sometimes it's a lot. I get the: I'm behind in my pages guilt, or I bought too much scrap supplies guilt, or I need to take better phots guilt, or the I can't believe I haven't been published guilt. So, sometimes I need a little reminder. I decided to do a layout tonight with NO guilt. I was going to scrap some photos that I thought did not turn out "perfect", but reflected what is really important, the fun we have as a family. I remembered that in many of the photos I took during my hubby's birthday dinner, I was laughing so hard because of how silly he and my son were being. That is what is important. This time I did not worry about every little embellishment and paper, I just wanted to get down to the core again of why I scrapbook. These are the memories I want to record and pass down to future generations. The journaling reads: Just another reminder of why I scrapbook...to capture the everyday moments that make my heart smile. To capture us.
Thanks for stopping by! Keep those comments coming...I will draw a random winner for some scrap goodies tomorrow night.

Organizing Mission

Not too much to report. Still trying to get Christmas shopping done. Still trying to clean and organize my scrap studio. I will have to take some pics soon to show you my progress. :) For now, I will leave you with some pics of my button storage. I got this ice bucket from Pottery Barn last year when it went on clearance after summer. It is perfect for all of my buttons and it never is too hard to find the right button because of the scooper that hangs on the side. It is defintiely one of my favorite organizational items. What is your best organizational tip? I welcome any help I can get! lol

Congratulations ladies. Please email me at info@scrapbookbakery.com with your addresses and I will get your pies out to you. :)

In other news, I have been cleaning out my scrapbook studio. (why I choose to do this with the holdiays two weeks away, I have no idea!) I realize that I have way too much stuff. Doesn't every scrapbooker?

Anyway, I am going to do Another Happy Mail giveaway. I am really into this blogging thing. :) So, next Wednesday I will randomly pick one person to receive some scrapbooking goodies. Trust me, you will not be disappointed! All you have to do is keep the comments coming. Not just on this post, but any post on this blog for the next week. I will put ALL of the comments in a hat to pick. So, keep posting!

I have also decided to sell some of my Sizzix stuff. Here is a pic. It is the Lollipop alphabet set and some larger dies. (doll body, doll clothes-boy and girl, doll hair-boy and girl, train, tree, and horse) I have used these maybe twice and thought someone else might put them to use more than I have. I am selling ALL OF THEM for $75.00 before shipping. Please email me if you are interested in purchasing them. info@scrapbookbakery.com
EDITED: The Sizzix Set has been sold.

I think that is all for tonight. Thanks for reading.

a little of this, a little of that

Thanks to all of you who posted for a chance to win a Scrap Pie. Keep them coming! I enjoyed reading your comments and I will draw 2 winners on Wednesday.
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a busy one. My nephew got baptized on Sunday and I was asked to be the Godmother. What an awesome responsibility. I feel honored that I get to be a front seat passenger on his spiritual journey. Here is a peek at the little man.
I am beginning to feel a bit overwhelmed with all the Christmas preparations. Every year I do the same thing...
1. I always think I am going to be done shopping by now.
2. I always think I am going to have time to hand make every one's gift.
3. I always think I am going to decorate more.
4. I always think that I am going to stop stressing and just enjoy the holiday.
Anyone else feel the same way? Well, there is always next year. :)
Before I go wrap some more gifts, I will leave you with a treat. If you go to Scrapbook Bakery and place an order using coupon code HOLIDAY2007 ...you will receive 20% off your entire purchase. Who wants pie?

Well, I can't believe it! I officially have a blog now. I always said I would never have a blog and look at me now! lol Although a little nervous at first, I'm excited about new friends. So, in the spirit scrapbook bakers everywhere, I'm gonna give away a pie...yes, pie. But not just any pie, a SCRAP PIE!

What's a SCRAP PIE? A new goodie fresh from the bakery. Scrapbook Bakery is working on a new recipe for our SCRAP PIES. Here is a small taste...

Each SCRAP PIE has a yummy filling and hand cut pie crusts that would be a great addition to any page!

I want to get to know you! Post a comment below with a link to your favorite online store. (I need to get my Christmas shopping done!) I will choose two random comments on Wednesday night who will be the first to receive a SCRAP PIE.

Thanks for stopping by! Lots more to come.
