Okay, on to the reason for this post. I taught a mini workshop at the Inspired Event last month and I wanted to share it here for all the ladies who purchased my extra kits and for all of you who could not go to the event, maybe you can incorporate the idea. A free online class!

The purpose of this class is obvious.... to try and conquer or at least tame the Creative Block that I am sure every scrapper experiences from time to time. I was so tired of going to a crop and experiencing Creative Block and just sit there wasting precious scrapping time. So, I got out my handy dandy HUGE, HEAVY inspirational binder that is home to all kinds of ideas I jot down or tear out of magazines. I love my binder and it really helps but when I travel to crops, but it is really annoying to travel with. So I decided to create a mini version of that binder and since I was teaching...of course it had to be cute! :) So, with the sponsorship of Jenni Bowlin and her AMAZING products, my mind started racing with ideas.

First, I wanted to create categories that would help with the overall design of any layout/project....
DESIGN, PHOTOS, JOURNALING, EMBELLISHMENTS, SCRAPS, and REFRESH. The purpose of this was to help with Creative Block from start to finish OR if you were only experiencing creative block with one of the areas...it would get you jumpstarted to completing your project. Can there be more than these categories, of course! These seemed like the best place to start.
With that being said...I am going to post ALL of the pics of the individual creative challenge cards. I hope this helps the ladies match up their materials, who are making their kits at home. :)

Front Cover:

The first Category is DESIGN: (REMEMBER when you are writing on these label stickers, they are slick...use a SHARPIE...for all the REGULAR papers, you can use a regular, acid free, black marker!) The Jenni Bowlin tickets were PERFECT for making tabs on the side of each category. Makes it so easy to find which category you are looking for..

These are all of the creative challenges under DESIGN:

The next Category is PHOTOS:

The next category is JOURNALING:

These are the creative challenges for JOURNALING:

The next category is EMBELLISHMENTS:

These are the creative challenges for EMBELLISHMENTS:

The next category is SCRAPS:

These are the creative challenges for SCRAPS:

The next (and final) category is REFRESH: This is by far my favorite category b/c it does just what it says (or at least for me!) ...it refreshes you!

Here are the REFRESH challenges:

Email me at hruwe(at)scrapbookbakery.com if you are interested and I will send you a copy! I KNOW this was a lot of info for one night. So, I have decided to disect each category over

Hello Again

Hi there. Thought I was done blogging? Nope. As National Scrapbook Day comes to an end...I want to do one more thing. The FIRST person to post a comment to this post wins a little somethin', somethin' from Scrapbook Bakery....start posting now! You never know I might pick more than one winner????? hee hee.

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Happy National Scrapbook Day everyone! In honor of the day I put a coupon code at the bakery. If you use coupon code NSD08 at the checkout, you will receive 35% off your purchase. Happy Shopping! Also, if you mention you saw it here on the blog, you will get a goodie prize with your purchase. Here is a hint of one of the goodies that may be in it.....
Speaking of ribbon, I wanted to share something I did awhile ago. I don't know about you but I have lots and lots of scraps of ribbon b/c I use it so much. So, I took some that I had and cut them up into even smaller pieces, glued them (using a glue stick) around and enlarged photo....and this is the result. I took this picture of my niece (Taylor) when she was just seven months old...now she is almost 5! How time flies! Anyway, enjoy the day and thanks for stopping by! Keep checking back throughout the day, there may be a few surprises! :)

Green Thumb

Hi everyone. No, I am not a gardener but I might be after this month's kit! lol I named this kit Green Thumb because it comes with a clay pot (not pictured, but included). Lots of brand spankin' new products from American Crafts. Yum....
Jennie Holwadel is the guest designer for May. Jennie is a Scrapbook Bakery Design Team member but more importantly a really good friend. I have known Jennie for a long time now and she is so fun to hang out with and is such a good listener and just a genuine, down to earth person. Love ya Jennie! She did an amazing job with the kit materials....take a look....I love how she mod podged strips of paper around the pot and the pencils and doesn't them jelly beans look yummy? Perfect for mother's day! More details.....

I just love these cards....a set of cards would be perfect for a Mother's Day gift. Here are her layout's of her sweet girls, Kayla and Audrey....

I love how she used the envelope on Audrey's baby page...perfect for hiding sentimental journaling or a hospital bracelet. Thanks so much Jennie for continuing to lend your talent to Scrapbook Bakery! Like Jennie's projects? Drop her a comment on her blog. She will be doing a RAK soon sponsored by Scrapbook Bakery! :)

One more thing...thank you so much for the comments and emails on Creative Play with Laura. PLEASE email me or comment with a link if you are going to play along with our challenge. We would LOVE to see your work! Have a great night. Must go watch Hell's Kitchen! Thanks for stopping by!

Wanna Play?

Laura Vegas and I decided to do a little Creative Play recently. We decided to use a pink, red, and green color scheme, a Hero Arts Stamp, and bubble wrap! We went with the theme of having to do a page about ourselves. Laura did a daily routine page and I did a daily necessities page. I have to admit I was a little nervous to do this with Laura b/c she is so stinkin' talented but I knew it would be fun and it was! Here is what Laura did.....just love it....and here is mine....
Some close up shots of details....
The journaling sits on top of two rows of the Heidi Swapp Journaling Spots (Days of the Week).
The journaling reads: Whether it’s a COCA-COLA to wake me up in the morning, a CELL PHONE that let’s me know when Alex needs picked up from school, the INTERNET that allows me to connect with others and run a business, or my I-POD SHUFFLE that allows me to chill out with soothing music during an evening walk…these are the things that have become my daily necessities. Can I live without them? Sure. But, I really don’t want to. :) Painting on the bubble wrap was FUN! When I was done it made for the perfect spot to push brads through the circles and add buttons!
I am so glad that I saw this Creative Play concept on Robyn's Blog. If you haven't tried this before, go try it with a scrapping friend. It's a lot of fun.
