Creative Play...the sequel

Laura and I decided to do some more creative play. This time the "rules" were to use green and yellow, a Hero Arts background stamp, and the cuttlebug. Throw in some heat embossing and this is what you get....

This is Laura's Layout:
(ETA: Laura asked me to remove her image for publication.)
She always amazes me. I just love her layout and how she used soft colors. I also love her photos. Her daughter is beautiful. Check out her blog for more details.
This is my layout: Journaling:
You were one of the few selected to create a mural to support the homeless in Cincinnati.

Your dad and I traveled downtown for the big reveal day and when I saw your mural, it literally took my breath away. It was simply amazing.

You did such a good job and we are so very proud of you. I can see your art taking you places and I can’t wait to see your future creations. You are one talented young man. Love you lots.

I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on a strip of gray cardstock (far left) and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Here is a closeup:

I love how "shiny" it makes it look. I stamped the Hero Arts background stamp on white with black ink. Just love that stamp. I won it at Jennifer's card class last week. I know I enable too much BUT you must go pick up one of these stamps because they are so much fun to use.

Okay, back to bed. I have a horrible sinus headache. Have a great weekend! Please let us know if you played along...we would love to see what you created.

Have you ever...

I thought it was time for a little mindless, random blogging. (even though I have a hard time posting without pics! lol )

I am in the middle of revamping everything about my house and as I was cleaning and organizing, I kept thinking if anyone else has ever experienced the same things I am. So, please tell me I'm not alone as we play a little game of Have you Ever....

Have you ever...

*cleaned out your home office and found a paper from about 10 years ago? I found a few unimportant papers that dated back to 97' and was a good reminder that I hold on to way TOO many things!

*started too many projects at once? I have completed gutted my scrapbook studio...the basement is getting redone....and my living room needs painting! Sometimes I have a hard time focusing on one thing. lol

*started cleaning your scrapbook area and start to calculate how much you have spent over the years on this hobby? I started and stopped...WAY TO SCARY! lol

*wanted to just throw away all the stuff your hubby keeps that you know he doesn't need? Sorry honey, we need room! lol I'm sure he would say the same of my scrapbooking stuff. lol

*wanted to sell every piece of furniture in your house and start all over? lol

Like I said, please tell me I'm not alone. lol I am making progress though. The home office is almost done and the garage sale pile is getting bigger by the minute!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. :)

Project Pics

As promised, here are some pics of some of the projects I worked on my weekend retreat...
(note: I used my Cuttlebug on this one! It's hard to see but I did it on the chocolate brown paper)

Journaling: This picture was taken right before your second high school dance. Sigh. I don't know where the time goes. Thank you for letting me capture these moments even though I know it isn't "cool". You do it for me and I treasure it.A closeup of each page.....Another two page spread on Alex's birthday....sorry for the bad pic! Alex had 15 clues to solve during his scavenger hunt to find his birthday present (an electric guitar)
A closeup of each page....
One more layout...my favorite using MM product...
Also, I made some cards b/c I am just like Jennifer and Laura. I have to make cards with the mess leftover. :) Here are some cards from the last page "mess" ....
I wanted to put my message on the inside of this one....so, I made a pop-up greeting....

What else? My birthday was Monday. I had so much fun. My hubby and I went to dinner and then to see the Sex and the City Movie....SO GOOD! I am wanting to see it again already! :) When I got home that night, my hubby and son got me this. I also got a stereo system to play it from my scrapbook studio. I LOVE it!

Well, off to get the house clean before Jennie picks me up for Jennifer's card class tonight. More soon...thanks for stopping by!

Bye....

Well, I am off to go get my hair cut and then I will be leaving shortly after that to go HERE. I am so excited. I really need this mini-vacation. I love catching up with friends and relaxing...I will be getting a massage while I'm there. Seriously, can't wait. I am packed and ready to go....Before I leave, I wanted to remind everyone that I owe a blog prize to...those will be sent out on Monday, I promise. I have been super busy with the Bakery and next month's kit. Okay, I also promised a winner from the Creative Block Survival Guide Mini-Workshop and that would be Timi Mercado from the Philippines! Timi sent me submissions to ALL of the challenges and they were all amazing. Thanks to all of you for playing along. It was so fun. Here is Timi's submission for an all about me layout....
Timi, you know my address...email me and I will get a prize out to you! Okay, gotta get going. Have a fabulous weekend! Thanks for reading!

Cuttlebug Crazy

Thanks to the world's best enablers, Laura and Jennifer, I now own a Cuttlebug:
Jennifer had this on our trip last year to Cornerstone (where I am leaving to go tomorrow for the weekend!) and I have been wanting one ever since. My mom surprised me yesterday as a gift even though my birthday is not until Monday. Thanks Mom! I have been going to Michael's almost twice a day to use their 50% off one item and picking up the embossing folders...love them! I also picked up this Amy Butler "carrying case"....

The pockets are great to hold all the dies and folders. I will embossing like crazy this weekend. lol

And...since I did have the coupons, I splurged on my niece and got her a Cuttlebug kids and die-set for her birthday this summer .....

She is going to be five and for some kids that is young but she was at my mom's when I got mine and I showed her what it did and she said, "OH MY GOSH, I LOVE IT!" and then tried it herself about a hundred times and said she is a scrapbooker...the same thing happened when she came over and finally realized that Aunt Heather has a scrapbook store in her house! She about died with excitement. I think she has already got the scrappin' bug! lol

Okay, I know Blah, Blah, Blah...time to wrap it up. I think I have gone Cuttlebug crazy! I will be back tomorrow before I leave. I hope you are having a great day!
